Rubio calls out national media over Venezuela

Americans have grown accustomed to watching President Donald Trump dress down the national media over what he calls “Fake News” reporting and editorializing, but now it appears that Florida Senator Marco Rubio has piled on to the president’s questioning of the press corp.

Rubio, arguably the loudest and most influential voice in the effort to supplant Maduro, took to social media to call out The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post for referring to Venezuelan President Juan Guaido as the “opposition leader” of Dictator Nicolas Maduro, asking The Post, “do you refer to Speaker Pelosi as the “opposition leader?”

In jabbing at the Wall Street Journal, Rubio reminded the media outlet that many more nations continue to “recognize” Guaido over Maduro as the “legitimate President of Venezuela,” adding that Guaido was also democratically elected president of Venezuela’s National Assembly.
