If South Carolina is any indication of how the 2020 Democratic presidential primary race is going to turn out, then Vice President Joe Biden has got his party’s nomination all wrapped up.
The latest Fox News public opinion poll has Biden crushing the field of candidates by 21-points, with Sen. Bernie Sanders in second with 14-points, and Sen. Kamala Harris with 12-points.
This poll extends Biden’s overall average poll lead among South Carolinians to 25%, leaving little doubt that the former vice president’s campaign as strong as ever.
While he isn’t leading the field of Democrats by 25 percentage points in the all-important “First in the nation” polls, Biden is still ahead of the pack.
Biden’s leads Democratic opponents in these states:
In the latest national poll conducted between Biden and President Donald Trump, Biden only holds a 6-percentage point lead.
“The threat Donald Trump poses to our national security, and to who we are as a country, is so extreme we cannot afford to ignore it,” stated Biden on Twitter about Trump “His erratic policies and failures to uphold basic democratic principles have muddied our reputation and our place in the world.”
President Trump currently holds a 51-percentage point approval average on how he is handling the U.S. economy, and only a 41.4 percent approval rating on foreign policy.
