The recent measure sponsored by Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro (D), who chairs the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, to block President Trump’s national emergency edit to build the border wall, is expected to sail through the Democratic-controlled House of Representative.
Speaker Pelosi said that much in a tweet where she stated that “the House will vote on @JoaquinCastrotx ‘s legislation,” adding that the vote would come down because Trump ignored the “bounds of the law with his emergency declaration.”

Castro’s bill could very well pass in the Senate, setting the stage for Trump to pen his very first veto of his administration.
Rep. Castro’s brother Julian, a fellow Democrat, who is running for president in 2020, may co-opt his brother’s national emergency position against Trump.
