Americans across the United States spent Easter Sunday at Church, with family and friends, eating and celebrating, but the political world brought a grim approach to American households.
2020 Democratic Presidential candidate Julian Castro took to twitter to unleash a series of tweets to discuss how he sees the changing of America’s landscape.
In the tweets, Castro questions the "American Dream," and whether the concept is even attainable under the Trump administration.

He explains that his “family’s story wouldn’t be possible without a country that challenged itself to live up to the promise of America.” He added that the American Dream “wasn’t supposed to be just a dream. America was the place where dreams could become real.”
In turn, Castro states that “the relay isn’t working.” The reason being that “we’re falling backwards instead of moving forward. And the opportunities that made America, America are reaching fewer and fewer people.”

So, Castro says that if the country continues on the path that it’s headed, that “we’re at risk of dropping the baton.” He then reminds the public that he’s running for the Presidency in order to ensure that the United States doesn’t drop the baton.

Should he win the Presidency in 2020, Castro says that “we’re going to make sure that the promise of America is there for everyone.”
However, several issues emerge.
The economy is surging along with jobs in the United States and detractors say that both the hikes have nothing to do with President Trump’s last three years in office. Instead, they attribute it to the groundwork left from the last 8 years of President Obama’s tenure. So, if the country is propelling itself based on the framework provided by the Obama administration, then is the United States dropping the baton directly because of Obama’s two-term Presidency?
This would mark the second time that Castro unintentionally takes a swipe that President Obama, having done so earlier this year when saying that he would not be wasting time by playing golf should he be elected President.
While the comment was meant as a swipe to President Trump’s first term, the comments backfired seeing as President Obama spent more time on the golf field during his time in office.
