He may not be the frontrunner, or have thrones of followers, but he does have enough support to make him the first 2020 Democratic presidential candidate to make it onto the first debates stage set for June 26 & 27 in Miami, Florida
Former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and Mayor of San Antonio, Julian Castro, has just out O’Rourked, out Bernied, and even out Bidened the entire filed of Democratic presidential hopefuls by eclipsing the Democratic National Committee’s metrics for debate participants, by obtaining 65,000 unique donors.
A sound Orale! Is in order for the Castro campaign.
“When I started this campaign on January 12, I knew our team would have to work harder with fewer resources,” said Secretary Julián Castro. “Reaching this threshold of genuine grassroots support is encouraging and shows without a doubt that this campaign continues to become stronger and stronger. I’m grateful for the support of so many people from around the country and am looking forward to the debates in June and July.”
Castro, like most of the field of 20 candidates, has a long way to go to be considered one of the favorites to go on and challenge President Donald Trump.
In the latest RealClearPolitics.com average of polls, Castro is polling at 1%.
