When you visit the website of the Spanish-language TV network Univision, the issue that the network solely covers, and in some cases promotes, is that of immigration.
While immigration is the hot top topic issue that grabs all the headlines when it comes to Hispanic matters, the two issues that are most important to Hispanics are not discussed by many Spanish-language networks like Univision, or even by politicians, who would like you to think that they are the authority on everything Hispanic.
These two issues that matter the most to Hispanics are the economy and education.
Economic prosperity is the single reason why Hispanics immigrate to the United States.
Why else do many Hispanics leave their respective countries of origin, many risking their lives, and the lives of their family members, just to come to the United States?
Think about it.
The second issue that matters most to Hispanics is education.
Since Hispanics are very family-centric, raising their children in a safe an prosperous environment comes a close second to economic prosperity.
Take for example the story of Senator Marco Rubio.
Because they were not educated folks, when Rubio's parents immigrated to the U.S. from Cuba, they had to work blue collar jobs just to be able to make ends meet.
The Rubio's, like many other Hispanic families had done, pressed their four children to seek the best education possible for themselves, so that they would not struggle through life like they had to.
Remember, while many will like to convince you that immigration is the issue that makes the Hispanic world go round, know that they are wrong, and that the true driving issue that matters most to Hispanics is economic prosperity.
