Donald Trump took some time off the presidential campaign trail to talk to me about what else, Politics.
In a phone interview with "The Donald," Trump said that he thinks Jeb Bush feels "entitled" to the Republican presidential nomination, and because he continues to best Bush in all of the national presidential polls, that is the reason why Bush has been attacking him, portraying himself as being an unhappy tortoise, not a "joyful" one.
"I think he feels entitled. I think that Jeb feels very, very much entitled"
Immigration was the issue of the day, and I asked Trump how he would interpret his controversial support of dealing with birthright citizenship.
"I think that the 14th Amendment was being read wrong by everyone, "said Trump, adding that the amendment was "done actually for slaves so they could become citizens of this country," and not illegal immigrants crossing the U.S. border.
As far as paying for his proposed "Great Wall of Trump," Trump says that by paying for a wall that would be roughly 1000 miles long, would actually save Americans money.
Trump believes the cost to build the wall would not cost nearly as mush as the amount of taxpayer dollars spent every year in dealing with illegal immigration.
I brought up Senator Marco Rubio's past support and cosponsoring of, as Trump called it, the "Schumer-Rubio" plan for immigration reform.
Trump said ," It hurt him very very badly," adding that Rubio only changed up his support for his amnesty bill after he saw how it pushed him down in the polls.
