Univision Anchor Jorge Ramos defended is actions at the recent Donald Trump press conference in Iowa, in which he was kicked out for rudely interrupting Trump, as him just expressing his First Amendment rights.
Ramos, who says he has never been told to leave a event like this before, told a "Despierta America" Univision anchor that he did wait his turn (he didn't) before shouting out remarks to Trump.
Ramos, has stated that this was "personal" to him, adding that he believes the principle job of journalists is to ask questions, and exposed and denounce the dangerous rhetoric that Donald Trump is using.
This sounds more like activist journalism than just plain journalism.
The video of the event clear shows that once Trump stepped up to the podium and looked to field a question from another reporter, Jorge stood up and started spouting off.
It wasn't until Trump allowed Ramos back in his room, that he was called upon, but only after holding up his hand like the rest of the reporters.
Why didn't Ramos respectfully sit and wait to be called upon?
Trump allowed Ramos to ask all his question, which he in turn answered.
During this interview, Ramos told the anchor that "we are not going to stay silent," and that " this was not his country."
The U.S. is not Trump's country?
Did Ramos intend to say that this country is his and his constituents (Latinos), or that this was not Trump's country, meaning that he didn't own it?
Ramos also stated that the reason he even went to Iowa to confront Trump was because Trump apparently denied him an interview.
So what Ramos is saying is that he decided to act out of spite, much like he an his network did against Senator Marco Rubio a few years ago, when Rubio himself refused to interview with Ramos and Univision.
Univision then decided to attack Rubio on his brother-in-law's past arrest for drug trafficking.
It is clear that Ramos is an activist journalist with an agenda, and has been pushing amnesty for illegal immigrants for years.
