Egyptian Military Kills 12 Mexican Tourists

Egyptian security forces, which included police and military,  mistook four trucks carrying Mexican tourists for Islamic terrorists, shooting and killing 12 of the tourists and their Egyptian guides, as well as wounding 10 others.

Officials said that the case of mistaken identity was made after the group of tourists ventured into a prohibited area of that country that is known to be frequented by terrorists.

Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto condemned the killing, calling for an immediate and thorough investigation by the Egyptian government.
