Newly inaugurated Governor Ron DeSantis has begun his overhaul of the Florida Supreme Court with the selection of Judge Barbara Lagoa, who becomes the high court's first female Cuban-American justice.  DeSantis will soon replace two more Supreme Court justices (three in total) who have each hit the mandatory retirement age of 70- Judges Barbara Pariente, Fred Lewis, and Peggy Quince.
