With this week’s State of the Union address, President Trump’s speech has received praise as many viewers approve of the President’s message. Specifically, a CBS News poll informed that 76% of viewers approved of the address.
While many important topics were discussed in the President’s speech, topics that have generated discussion are national security, troops coming home and the unrest that the Middle East is facing.
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham discussed what the Trump administration has meant to concerns in the Middle East, and Graham outlined that the Trump administration has been nothing but successful in dealing with the Middle East.
In short, the South Carolina Senator explained that “Obama made it impossible to win. Trump has made it possible to win, and we’re winning.”
Graham further explained that “We’re more respected, we’re safer today than we were two years ago, and it is because of this President.”
In terms of leadership, Graham dispelled the notion that the President would be harmful when connecting to foreign leaders, citing an upcoming meeting with the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Graham notes that he believes “the Prime Minister of Pakistan and President Trump are gonna get along very well.” And, this is why “Pakistan, for the very first time in a decade, is beginning to help us on their side of the border.”
Another major reason why the South Carolina Senator says that foreign policy under the Trump administration has been successful is because of the criticism that the country has directed to Iran.
In his closing thoughts on the subject, Graham posed a question, “why are the Europeans now cracking down on the Iranians? Because Trump gave them a choice. You can help me reign in on this Iranian regime, or you will not have access to this economy. And, guess what? They picked our economy over the Ayatollah.”
