Democratic ‘rising star, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been making waves ever since arriving to Washington, D.C., and the country has taken notice.
Ocasio-Cortez is the new face of the Democratic Party, and it is scaring the daylights out of many establishment Democratic legislators like Speaker Pelosi, who are seeing their power and influence challenged.
From fully supporting her friend Rep. Ilhan Omar’s apparent anti-Semitic remarks, to pushing for a Socialist-minded “Green New Deal” and the “Medicare for All” plan.
But Ocasio-Cortez has made the most news with her off-the-cuff fact-check worthy remarks, including those that skirt the racial divide.
AOC, as she is referring to, recently retweeted her former campaign aide Wahleed Shaheed’s racially charged tweet. Shaheed claims that Breitbart News and Fox News reporting is anchored by racism.
Shaheed accuses the heads of the news organizations of catering only to “white voters” and not to “black & brown people.”
"The reason FOX News + Breitbart attack @AOC, @IlhanMN, @RashidaTlaib so much is because Rupert Murdoch and Robert Mercer want older, white voters to feel they have nothing in common with black & brown people who want to tax billionaires like them and provide health care to all."
