Tension in Venezuela is now culminating in Juan Guaido calling for Venezuelans to take to the streets in order to topple Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.
In what he is calling the “final phase” of “Operation Freedom,” Guaido explained in a three minute video posted on twitter that “our armed forces today, valiant soldiers, valiant patriots, valiant men connected to the constitution have come to our calling, we have come to this calling.”

Earlier in the year, Guaido received support from many world leaders who acknowledge him as the true President of Venezuela. However, this drew criticism from the Maduro regime.
Venezuela’s information Minister Jorge Rodriguez took to twitter to inform that the Maduro government was “deactivating a small number of traitorous military personnel.”
In addition, Rodriguez also called “on the people to remain in maximum alert so that, together with the glorious Bolivian armed forces, we defeat this attempted coup and preserve peace. We will win.”
Lawmakers from the United States and around the world have been critical of the Maduro regime, which has been oppressing the Venezuelan people. As well, they have called for Maduro to step down from the Presidency, but Maduro has maintained that he will not do so.
Speaking on the subject, Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) called for the Venezuelan military to support Guaido.

On twitter, Rubio commented that “this is the moment for those military officers in Venezuela to fulfill their constitutional oath & defend the legitimate interim president… in this effort to restore democracy.”
Rubio also expressed that “you can write history in the hours & days ahead.”
People continue to fight for their freedom and the effects of socialism have been felt worldwide, which is why many countries are not rejecting the ideology outright.
As the United States faces its own concerns with lawmakers flirting with Democratic Socialism, the world watches as Venezuela looks to pave a future of freedom for its people.
