THE DEMOCRATS – Democrats looking to set up camp in the Oval Office, are out defending Roe vs. Wade and denouncing the ‘Heartbeat” bills that have signed into law.

Bernie Sanders was in Birmingham, Alabama to protest that state’s “unconstitutional abortion ban” that was recently signed into law, where he said he was “proud to stand” with the pro-Choice protestors.

Sen. Cory Booker believes that Americans should “live in a country” that allows women to “make their own health care decisions,” and that government should “protect that right.”

Mayor Pete Buttigieg, who could become the first ever openly gay president echoed what Booker said:

“I believe that the right of a woman to make her own decisions about her reproductive health and about her body is a national right. I believe it is an American freedom that should be enjoyed by women in every state. The next president needs to be ready to protect those rights.”

SPEAKING OF JOE… Uncle Joe Biden seems to have gone to church and taken the rest of the day off, so no comments about the abortion protests going on across the nation this weekend

BERNIE SANDERS RACE CHALLENGE –Sanders goes after Georgia’s Black vote by AJC

If U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders is going to win Georgia’s Democratic presidential primary, as he vowed Saturday at his first campaign appearance in the state this cycle, he’s going to need voters like Wade Jackson.

Jackson, 40, actually voted for Sanders in 2016 when he won just better than a quarter of the vote against Hillary Clinton. The lopsided result was due largely to Clinton’s overwhelming support from African-American residents.

This time around, Jackson, a black Georgia voter, said he’s undecided for now about which Democrat he’ll support. He’s still considering a few of the nearly two dozen Democrats who have entered the presidential race.

But the law has been slowly defanged in recent decades by opinions from the attorney general’s office and the Texas Supreme Court, which have broadly accommodated corporations and government agencies that would rather keep their records secret.

Bipartisan bills passed both chambers last week would revive the ailing Texas Public Information Act by, among other things, ensuring that government contracts are released to journalists and citizens who want them. READ MORE
