Appearing on Fox News’ “Hannity” show, Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R), after having to take water break to clear his throat, told host Sean Hannity that the first 2020 Democratic presidential debate was nothing more than a broken “clown car.”
"The debate last night -- the clown car is broken," he said.
"There is no brake and it only steers left. It was scary last night. It was scary to see the Democrats -- every one of them -- falling all over each other to get further and further and further left, added Cruz.
Cruz qualified his claim, listing the reasons why he believed Democrats are too extreme for mainstream America.
"You saw them embrace late-term abortions, you saw them embrace 70 percent tax rate, you saw them embrace socialism. You saw them tell the American people they want to take away everyone's health insurance. And, you saw them embrace open borders."
The second debate was no different than the first.
All ten candidates pushed the same anti-Trump, socialism agenda. Sen. Kamala Harris and Mayor Pete Buttigieg emerged as the clear winners of the debate, and Bernie Sanders was perceived by some as being the loser.
Why?
Sanders, like Biden, was on the defensive all night. Candidates from both sides of the stage questioned his policies, prompting the senior senator from Vermont to lose his cool.
Sanders was visibly bothered.
