Georgia Rep. Hank Johnson (D) is joining the conversation regarding the death of Qasem Soleimani, slamming President Trump for the death of the Iranian General. Surprisingly, the death of the General has been a divisive topic with some even apologizing on behalf of the United States for the death of a man responsible for numerous American deaths. Most recently, Soleimani was responsible for orchestrating the attack on the U.S. embassy in Iran.
On Twitter, the Georgia lawmaker echoed various Democrats, commenting that “a trigger happy armchair strongman, lacking congressional authority, has recklessly brought our nation closer to war.”

The idea of an impending World War 3 has dominated the political arena since the news of Soleimani’s death. Since then, Iran has vowed to respond, and it was announced over the weekend that Iran’s “red flag of doom” was unveiled, signaling that the country might react sooner than later. As well, the eulogist speaking at Soleimani’s funeral offered an $80 million bounty for President Trump’s head.
Moreover, President Trump not engaging in conversation with Congress before launching the bombing has been a much criticized talking point regarding the death of the general. However, it’s a move that past presidents such as George Bush and Barack Obama have done as well without communicating with Congress.
