Devout Socialist Maradona Looks To Take Over FIFA


Former Futbol, or Soccer great, Diego Armando Maradona could make a run for the FIFA presidency next year.

The devout socialist, who has the faces of both Che Guevara and Fidel Castro tattooed on his body, is said to be mulling over the decision make a run for the top Soccer job in the world.

Maradona told supporters that he was not depressed over his father’s recent passing, only that he was mourning his death, adding this screed about why his is making a comeback to the sport:

“I’m telling all Argentines that I’m strong, that they’re not going to break me, that I’m very tough, I have a lot of popular support. Maradona recently backed Jordanian Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein for the top job, but Al-Hussein lost to incumbent president Joseph Blatter.

Because of the ongoing corruption investigation into FIFA, shortly after his reelection, Blatter announced that he would be stepping down from his post, and would see to it that another election takes place on February 26, 2016.

The corruption scandal that has plagued FIFA includes allegations that officials have been taken part in  bribery, racketeering, wire fraud and money laundering conspiracy.
