Being hawkish on foreign policy is nothing new for Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R), who has made enemies of Communist Cuba, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, former Venezuelan Dictator Hugo Chavez, and now his predecessor, Strongman Nicolas Maduro.

If you ask Rubio about the disdain held for him by the aforementioned foreign leaders, Rubio will probably tell you that he wears their “joy” for him on his sleeve as a badge of honor.

Now it appears as if Rubio is setting his sights on the Islamic state of Iran.

With President Trump having recently sent the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln battle group to the Persian Gulf after Israeli Intelligence notified the White House of an Iranian plot against U.S. assets or allies in the Gulf, Rubio is not sounding off against the mullahs in Iran.

Rubio says that the U.S. is not looking to enter into a war with Iran but if Iran threatens “shipping in the Strait of Hurmuz and/or to target U.S. naval vessels,” the U.S. military will answer with “swift, devastating & justified response.”

In other words, Rubio saying that the U.S. military would pound Iranian military assets into the desert sand.

“Shia militias in Iraq would not conduct large scale attacks against U.S. forces in Iraq unless directed to do so by Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani,” said Rubio. “Using proxies will not provide Iran or Soleimani deniability. They will be held directly responsible if such attacks occur.”
