Marco Rubio Refutes Donald Trump’s Birthright Citizenship Position

Donald Trump’s recent immigration position of scrubbing the birthright citizenship amendment to the U.S. Constitution has pressed Senator Marco Rubio to respond to his fellow Republican presidential candidate.

“I am open to doing things that prevent people who deliberately come to the U.S. for purposes of taking advantage of the 14th amendment but I’m not in favor of repealing it.”- Sen. Marco Rubio

It seems as if most conservatives love Trump’s proposal, but like with every issue, there are those like Rubio, who strongly disagree.

The fact about the birthright citizenship provision is that it is a big money maker for illegal immigrants.

Many illegal immigrants see getting pregnant and giving birth to a child in the U.S. as a economic lifeline. Anyone born on U.S. soil is considered a legal citizen, and is afforded all of the entitlements and benefits the government has to offer.

While both men disagree on this issue, Trump and Rubio believe that  the “Sanctuary City” situation in the U.S. is a problem.

Rubio says the situation is “out of control,” but has yet to say what he would do about these cities, while Trump says he wants to defund them, if the cities refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement.
